Glenn “The Daddy” Ross has proved to be the “Daddy” in the sport of strength in Ireland, UK and the World. This Irish competitor has not only been Ireland’s Strongest Man, but has lifted nothing less than 10 British titles (I.F.S.A – U.K.S.M – 1999,UK TOP10 Championship 2000, B.S.M -1999, 2000, 2001, U.K.S.M – 2004, 2006, 2007, 2008,2010).
Glenn Ross Powerlifter and Strongman has broken many world strength records, static events being what he shines in. Weighing a massive 200kg the “Daddy” is no slouch winning several speed events to lift his Strongman crowns.
A host of World International wins and places have been achieved by this monster of strength sport, such as Killin Scottish World International – 1999, Vikings vs Celts Team winners – 2002, W.S.M.Cup – Bad Haring Austria winner -2003, W.S.M.Cup – Wakefield England winner – 2005, coveted Arnold Classic – 3rd – 2005. Glenn placed podium in many other Internationals and home competitions, but his crowning achievement would be becoming World Cup Europe’s Strongest Man in 2004. A further 4 Man team title wa won in Poland in the Celts vs Polska in 2011.
Mas Wrestling, Power-lifting and Strongman are a major part to his continued training to this day, old warriors never die. Glenn Ross is heavily involved in promotion/running of the sport of strength in the ISA and Ultimate Strongman. As a competitor you would feel great things are yet to come! No question to be in this ISA Strongman Hall of Fame.
Power-Lifting
The Daddy Glenn Ross gets his place in the ISA Hall Of Fame for being the first guy in history in Ireland and UK for lifting 1000kg RAW in Power-Lifting. His lifts where 380kg Squat, 240kg Bench and 380kg Deadlift with full Irish GPC Rules Refereed by the Legend Irish Power-Lifter Gerry McNamara in 2005. It was made special for the Power-lifting fans as The Daddy Glenn Ross after getting good lift signal on 380kg deadlift, immediately lifted it a second time and cried Who’s The Daddy at the top the lockout to claim the all-time Irish and British RAW Record! . A true Irish and World Legend in the sport strength and gets his induction into Power-lifting Hall Of Fame.
Strength Challenges
Glenn Ross being once quoted as the strongest on earth after coming back from the Arnold Classic in 2005, getting a 3rd place at the biggest power testing competition on the planet!. The Arnold Classic is invitation only and The Daddy was given it by lifting his World Cup Europe Strongest Man in 2004. Two of the Strength Challenges that where faced where the Hummer Dead-Lift and the Thomas Inch Dumbell ,that the Daddy smashed both disciplines to get two world records lifting 997lb in the Deadlift and got 11reps in the Inch Dumbell.. The line up of strength legends the Daddy beat to pull and press more in was no less than 6 world champions like Magnus Samuelsson (SWE), Vasyl Virasstyuk(UKR),Brian Siders USA, Svend Karlson (NOR),Mark Philippi USA and greatest strongman of all time Zydrunas Savickas.(LIT)!.
Glenn Ross over his career has pulled 40 tonne trains, 50 tonne planes, 3 steal case 40 foot lorries together weighing a massive 90 tonne. Deadlifted 3 cars at once and held off the floor for 13 seconds. Glenn has benched mahogany pool table 13 times, held vans and cars off the floor creating world record times. Lifted 25 bricks in a line for a new World Record, A total of 14 World record Strength Challenges from the Irishman to find his worthy induction into the Strength Challenges Hall of Fame.
