SUMMARY:Battle of Britain: 4 Nations Team Championship 2017
DESCRIPTION:In the Ultimate Strongman “To Me To You Removals 4 Nations Battle of Britian Team Championship\, was a fierce line up with the Legendary Terry Hollands captaining Team England with England’s Strongest Man Phil Roberts\, Paul Smith and Charlie Gough.  Team Wales was captained by Wales’ Strongest Man\, Ben Brunning with\, Hywel Owen Thomas\, Dale Peters and Nathan Llewellyn.  The favourites for the contest were Team Scotland and they were captained by Tom Stoltman with Paul Benton\, Kenny Simm and Scott Milne  Team Ireland were represented by Ireland’s Strongest Man Pa O’Dwyer\, Matthew McCoy\, Gavin Redmond and Dale Winters.  This was a great opportunity to test themselves against the best athletes in the UK. \nThe first event was the Duck Walk.  Each team member had to complete 20m each in a 2 minute time limit.  This saw England waddle their way to victory and Ireland close behind taking second place.  Scotland finished placed last which was a major shock for the start of the competition.  The second event was the Tug of War.  Team England were the winners of this one\, showing that body weight and team work were key to the win.  The third event was the Tyre Flip and Team Ireland stormed their way to victory with 63.48 metres that helped continue their consistency in the competition. The fourth event was the Dumbbell Press.  This was dominated by Tom Stoltman of Team Scotland who contributed massively to Scotland’s 7 reps.  This was enough for the win.  However\, Ireland continued their superb form with second with 6 reps.  The fifth event was the Stones of Strength.  Team Scotland won this event by impressively lifting all six stones onto the barrels.  Ireland placed second in this event by lifting 5 stones and beating England by less than 2 seconds.  The final event was the decider with Scotland\, Ireland and England all in contention to lift the crown but Team England were only able to lift 4 flags.  It came down to Ireland vs Scotland and Tom Stoltman pulled up the last flag to secure the victory but Pa O’Dwyer pulled up the last flag to cap off a remarkable performance by Team Ireland.  Team Scotland were the winners of the first Ultimate Strongman 4 Nations Battle of Britain and lifted their axes\, Ireland Second place\, England Third and Wales lifted the wooden spoons.  Thank you to North Down Borough Council for their support and we will see you at the next Ultimate Strongman event near you! \nThe Full Results are below: \n\n\n\nEvent 1- Duck Walk\n \n \n \n\n\n \n \n \n \n \n\n\nPosition\nTeam\nTime/Distance\nPoints\n \n\n\n1\nEngland\n86.21\n4\n \n\n\n2\nIreland\n90.14\n3\n \n\n\n3\nWales\n93.68\n2\n \n\n\n4\nScotland\n79.99 metres\n1\n \n\n\n \n \n \n \n \n\n\nEvent 2-\nTug of War\n \n \n \n\n\n \n \n \n \n \n\n\nPosition\nTeam\nPoints\nOverall Points\n \n\n\n1\nEngland\n4\n8\n \n\n\n2\nWales\n3\n5\n \n\n\n3\nScotland\n2\n3\n \n\n\n4\nIreland\n1\n4\n \n\n\n \n \n \n \n \n\n\nEvent 3- Tyre Flip\n \n \n \n\n\n \n \n \n \n \n\n\nPosition\nTeam\nDistance\nPoints\nOverall Points\n\n\n1\nIreland\n64.38 metres\n4\n8\n\n\n2\nScotland\n61.35 metres\n3\n6\n\n\n3\nEngland\n60.02 metres\n2\n10\n\n\n4\nWales\n57.90 metres\n1\n6\n\n\n \n \n \n \n \n\n\nEvent 4- Dumbell Press\n \n \n \n\n\n \n \n \n \n \n\n\nPosition\nTeam\nReps\nPoints\nOverall Points\n\n\n1\nScotland\n7\n4\n10\n\n\n2\nIreland\n6\n3\n11\n\n\n3\nWales\n5\n2\n8\n\n\n4\nEngland\n1\n1\n11\n\n\n \n \n \n \n \n\n\nEvent 5- Stones\n \n \n \n\n\n \n \n \n \n \n\n\nPosition\nTeam\nStones/Time\nPoints\nOverall Points\n\n\n1\nScotland\n6- 48.86\n4\n14\n\n\n2\nIreland\n5- 49.93\n3\n14\n\n\n3\nEngland\n5- 51.19\n2\n13\n\n\n4\nWales\n4- 52.62\n1\n9\n\n\n \n \n \n \n \n\n\nEvent 6- Flag Hoist\n \n \n \n\n\n \n \n \n \n \n\n\nPosition\nTeam\nFlags/Time\nPoints\nOverall Points\n\n\n1\nScotland\n5- 65.78\n4\n18\n\n\n2\nIreland\n5- 92.63\n3\n17\n\n\n3\nEngland\n4- 83.74\n2\n15\n\n\n4\nWales\n3- 17.53\n1\n10\n\n\n \n \n \n \n \n\n\nOverall Standings\n \n \n \n\n\n \n \n \n \n \n\n\nPosition\nTeam\nPoints\n \n \n\n\n1\nScotland\n18\n \n \n\n\n2\nIreland\n17\n \n \n\n\n3\nEngland\n15\n \n \n\n\n4\nWales\n10\n \n

Mayo lifted the Warriors cup and his first Finn McCool trophy.  Ivan Gannon lifted his second consecutive 110KG class title.  This was truly a remarkable show by the ISA and they would like to thank all the sponsors who made the event possible.  We will see you at the next ISA event near you! \nResults are below: \nEvent 1- 200KG Duck Walk for distance \n\n\n\nPosition\nName\nDistance (m)\nPoints\n\n\n1\nIvan Gannon\n40 m\n8.5\n\n\n1\nMatthew Castello\n40 m\n8.5\n\n\n3\nDean Doyle\n38.91 m\n7\n\n\n4\nGavin Redmond\n31.48 m\n6\n\n\n5\nKieran Neary\n27.05 m\n5\n\n\n6\nDean Kennedy\n26.57 m\n4\n\n\n7\nAngelo Iannetta\n21.91 m\n3\n\n\n8\nDavid Kent\n9.62 m\n2\n\n\n9\nKealan Harrington\n6.15 m\n1\n\n\n\nEvent 2- Axle for Reps \n\n\n\nPosition\nName\nReps\nPoints\nOverall Points\n\n\n1\nIvan Gannon\n4\n9\n17.5\n\n\n2\nDean Doyle\n3\n7.5\n14.5\n\n\n2\nAngelo Iannetta\n3\n7.5\n10.5\n\n\n4\nMatthew Cattello\n2\n5.5\n14\n\n\n4\nDean Kennedy\n2\n5.5\n9.5\n\n\n6\nGavin Redmond\n1\n3.5\n9.5\n\n\n6\nKieran Neary\n1\n3.5\n8.5\n\n\n8\nDavid Kent\n0\n0\n2\n\n\n8\nKealan Harrington\n0\n0\n1\n\n\n\nEvent 3-  Truck Pull\, Harness and Rope \n\n\n\nPosition\nName\nTime/Distance\nPoints\nOverall Points\n\n\n1\nIvan Gannon\n32.03\n9\n26.5\n\n\n2\nDean Kennedy\n32.44\n8\n17.5\n\n\n3\nMatthew Castello\n33.55\n7\n21\n\n\n4\nGavin Redmond\n34.84\n6\n15.5\n\n\n5\nKieran Neary\n34.98\n5\n13.5\n\n\n6\nDean Doyle\n40.37\n4\n18.5\n\n\n7\nAngelo Iannetta\n40.50\n3\n13.5\n\n\n8\nDavid Kent\n10 m\n1.5\n3.5\n\n\n8\nKealan Harrington\n10 m\n1.5\n2.5\n\n\n\nEvent 4- Car Deadlift \n\n\n\nPosition\nName\nReps\nPoints\nOverall Points\n\n\n1\nIvan Gannon\n17\n9\n35.5\n\n\n2\nAngelo Iannetta\n16\n8\n21.5\n\n\n3\nMatthew Castello\n11\n6.5\n27.5\n\n\n3\nKieran Neary\n11\n6.5\n20\n\n\n5\nDavid Kent\n10\n5\n8.5\n\n\n6\nGavin Redmond\n8\n4\n19.5\n\n\n7\nKealan Harrington\n7\n3\n5.5\n\n\n8\nDean Kennedy\n5\n1.5\n19\n\n\n8\nDean Doyle\n5\n1.5\n20\n\n\n\nEvent 5- Stones \n\n\n\nPosition\nName\nReps\nPoints\nOverall Points\nOverall Placing in weight class\n\n\n1\nIvan Gannon\n6\n8\n43.5\n1st- 110KG\n\n\n1\nMatthew Castello\n6\n8\n35.5\n2nd- 110KG\n\n\n1\nKieran Neary\n6\n8\n28\n1st- 95KG\n\n\n4\nAngelo Iannetta\n5\n5.5\n27\n2nd- 95KG\n\n\n4\nDean Doyle\n5\n5.5\n25.5\n3rd- 95KG\n\n\n6\nGavin Redmond\n3\n3.5\n23\n4th- 95KG\n\n\n6\nDean Kennedy\n3\n3.5\n22.5\n3rd-110KG\n\n\n8\nDavid Kent\n0\n0\n8.5\n5th- 95KG\n\n\n8\nKealan Harrington\n0\n0\n5.5\n6th- 95KG\n\n\n\n

SUMMARY:Ultimate Strongman UK 95kg & 110kg 2016 Final
DESCRIPTION:  \nOur two gladiators from the ISA 2016 were Dean Kennedy\, Co.Wexford and the 2015 110kg Ireland Strongest Man winner Ivan Gannon\, Co.Sligo. \nThe Irish Strength Association would like to congratulate Ivan Gannon on winning his first 110KG class UK title.  Ivan Gannon all year has been competing at the senior heavyweight class and has proved by placing 4th in the Ireland Strongest Man 2016\, that he has the arsenal to win any battle.  After winning the 110KG Ireland Strongest Man this year Ivan was walking into the World Power Show with a lot of confidence.  However\, Ivan was up against a tricky line up of competitors\, including a UK Strongest Man finalist John Pollock.  Ivan used this to raise his game and that was what brought him over the line.  John Pollock pushed Ivan to the very end with John finishing all of the stones and becoming the 20th man in history to do so.  On the hand Ivan did what he needed to do and that was to beat John in this weak events such as the incline log.  John did everything he could but it was not enough.  Ivan proved why he competing in the UK Strongest Man by lifting the Xplosive Ape trophy. We would like to thank the World Power Show for hosting this prestigious event.  The ISA wish Ivan all of the best in his preparations for the UK Strongest Man Final.  You can book your tickets fot this event by going onto the Ultimate Strongman website: \nhttp://www.ultimatestrongestman.com/get_tickets/?EventID=33 \nThe Irish Strength Association would massively like to congratulate Dean Kennedy on becoming the new 95KG UK Strongest Man.  After placing respectively in the Republic of Ireland Strongest Man\,  Dean was going into the UK contest with no expectations and was there for experience.  However Dean is named the ”Dynamo”.  He definitely was the ”Dynamo” on the day of the contest by gaining a number of personal bests when it mattered.  Including in the duck walk and the daddy dumbbell.  Dean saw off a number of strong Scottish competitors and was rewarded by lifting his first Xplosive Ape trophy.  The ISA would like to thank the World Power show for hosting this prestigious event.  The ISA wish Dean all the Celtic power from all our warriors from past centuries as he competes in Russia for the 95KG World Championships. \nThe results for this joint competition are below: \nEvent 1- Duck Walk- 30m \n\n\n\nPosition\nName\nDistance/ Time\nScore\n\n\n1\nJohn Pollock\n19.83 seconds\n8\n\n\n2\nMatt Szczerbinski\n28.38 seconds\n7\n\n\n3\nIvan Gannon\n40.00 seconds\n6\n\n\n4\nDean Kennedy\n28.80 meters\n5\n\n\n5\nJoni Manson\n24.40 meters\n4\n\n\n6\nDhani Moar\n18.20 meters\n3\n\n\n7\nMark Turner\n9.60 meters\n2\n\n\n8\nJames Turner\n9.18 meters\n1\n\n\n\n  \nEvent 2- Daddy Dumbell for Reps \n\n\n\nPosition\nName\nReps\nScore\nOverall Points\n\n\n1\nDhanni Moar\n15\n8\n11\n\n\n2\nIvan Gannon\n14\n7\n13\n\n\n3\nMatt Szczerbinski\n12\n6\n13\n\n\n4\nDean Kennedy\n9\n5\n10\n\n\n5\nJoni Manson\n7\n3.5\n7.5\n\n\n5\nJohn Pollock\n7\n3.5\n11.5\n\n\n7\nJames Tuner\n4\n2\n3\n\n\n8\nMark Tuner\n0\n0\n2\n\n\n\n  \nEvent 3- Car Deadlift Hold for maximum \n\n\n\nPosition\nName\nTime\nScore\nOverall Points\n\n\n1\nIvan Gannon\n81.56\n8\n21\n\n\n2\nJohn Pollock\n73.24\n7\n18.5\n\n\n3\nMatt Szcerbinski\n59.48\n6\n19\n\n\n4\nDean Kennedy\n50.81\n5\n15\n\n\n5\nDhanni Moar\n38.57\n4\n15\n\n\n6\nJoni Manson\n32.28\n3\n10.5\n\n\n7\nJames Turner\n25.35\n2\n5\n\n\n8\nMark Turner\n18.52\n1\n3\n\n\n\n  \nEvent 4- Incline Log \n\n\n\nPosition\nName\nReps\nScore\nOverall Points\n\n\n1\nIvan Gannon\n16\n8\n29\n\n\n2\nDhanni Moar\n14\n7\n22\n\n\n3\nDean Kennedy\n12\n6\n21\n\n\n4\nJohn Pollock\n11\n5\n23.5\n\n\n5\nMark Turner\n6\n4\n7\n\n\n6\nJames Turner\n5\n3\n8\n\n\n7\nMatt Sxczerbinski\n3\n2\n21\n\n\n8\nJoni Manson\n0\n0\n10.5\n\n\n\n  \nEvent 5- Stones of Strength \n\n\n\nPosition\nName\nStones/Time\nScore\nOverall Points\n\n\n1\nJohn Pollock\n5- 58.08\n8\n31.5\n\n\n2\nDhanni Moar\n4- 21.21\n7\n29\n\n\n3\nIvan Gannon\n4- 24.51\n6\n35\n\n\n4\nMatt Szczerbinski\n4- 36.64\n5\n26\n\n\n5\nDean Kennedy\n3- 19.78\n4\n25\n\n\n6\nJoni Manson\n3- 20.96\n3\n13.5\n\n\n7\nMark Turner\n3- 21.92\n2\n9\n\n\n8\nJames Turner\n3- 22.93\n1\n9\n\n\n\nEvent 6- Tyre Flip \n\n\n\nPosition\nName\nTime/Flips\nScore\nOverall Score\n\n\n1\nDhanni Moar\n29.22 seconds\n8\n37\n\n\n2\nJohn Pollock\n30.97 seconds\n7\n38.5\n\n\n3\nMatt Szczerbinski\n37.41 seconds\n6\n32\n\n\n4\nDean Kennedy\n58.40 seconds\n5\n30\n\n\n5\nIvan Gannon\n61.47 seconds\n4\n39\n\n\n6\nJoni Manson\n79.07 seconds\n3\n16.5\n\n\n7\nMark Turner\n3 flips\n2\n11\n\n\n8\nJames Turner\n0 flips\n1\n9\n\n\n\nOverall Standings \n\n\n\nPosition\nName\nOverall Points\n\n\n1\nIvan Gannon (110kg)\n39\n\n\n2\nJohn Pollock (110kg)\n38.5\n\n\n3\nDhanni Moar (110kg)\n37\n\n\n4\nMatt Szczerbinski (110kg)\n32\n\n\n5\nDean Kennedy (95kg)\n30\n\n\n6\nJoni Manson (95kg)\n16.5\n\n\n7\nMark Turner (95kg)\n11\n\n\n8\nJames Turner (95kg)\n9
